... more about the money issue from Don:

I understand the Biblical  tithe is actually a three-fold tithe. The first tithe is for the ministry. The second tithe is for the Feasts. The third tithe is given every three years is set aside for those in need - widows, orphans and Levites .

The tithe ordinances found in the Law, while its binding upon the New Covenant believer is arguable, it remains that the tithe is still a good indicator of how our LORD YHVH thinks about giving. I use this pattern to determine both my tithe and my spending .

1) I set aside 10%  for the work of ministry. The fiscal spending of money for the ministry all comes from tithes sent to this ministry. When devoid of the waste and frivolity of modern religion and expectations of modern clergy, it will be found to be more than enough to preach the gospel around the world.

2) Ten percent of my annual income is set aside for the expenses of the Feasts: travel - food costs (we only buy the best for YHVH). The material needs of the Feasts such as tents, tables, facillity costs, etc. all come from this tithe.

Some people who attend buy all they need for the Feasts and then give the remainder for facillities or travel expense for others. The abundance of food is given to the poor in the community.

When this ordinance is followed, there is never an excuse that the Feasts cannot be kept or attended.

3) The third tithe is set aside as a personal  account to make sure we have plenty to give to those in need.

This tithe amounts to only 3.3% of annual income. I never thought it was enough to alieviate the needs of the poor. However, if everyone does it, it may be more than is needed for the widows (indeed), the fatherless and the Levite.

The levite is mentioned along with the widows and ophans, because they had no inheritance. They had no land, no posessions and made their "living" at the behest and kindness of YHVH's people.  Nearly no one is in this situation today. (Ministry comes with a retirement plan today!) The Levite, whose life was given to service, owned nothing; yet he had needs like everyone else. This is why we read in Deuteronomy 12:19, "Take heed to thyself that thou forsake not the Levite as long as thou livest upon the earth."

Although those of us who have chosen to live this way are poor, we are dear to the heart of the One we serve.

Pam and I will not spend the tihe (niether ours nor the tithe given to the ministry) for personal items. We will not take a salary from the tithe. The needs of the Levite are to come from the third tithe -- not the first.

Please  designate your gifts accordingly (First or Third tithe).

“… freely ye have received, freely give.”
                                        Matthew 10:8

No plates, No baskets, No guilt!

“But when you give, let not your left hand know what your right hand does:  That your gift may be in secret: and your Father which sees in secret He himself will reward you.”
Matthew 6:3-4

Think Red Ink Ministries does not charge anyone for teaching materials.  We take the red words seriously. We do not deny anyone access to anything we have for lack of money. We do not compel anyone to donate, even when we need donations desperately.

  • All production costs are offset with your donations.

  • We consider every contribution that accompanies a request for materials, a donation; however, due to our deeply held religious beliefs your gifts are not tax deductible. (See below)
  • All donations are greatly appreciated and should be considered as gifts to the Almighty YHVH for the reasons stated below.

Your donations provide:

  1. Published, full-color TRI magazine periodicals at no charge.
  2. Satellite internet connection for mobile access to maintain website, to send and receive weekly Sabbath email and other correspondence, to broadcast Red Letter EditionLIVE! and Questions of Jesus via radio uplinks, and provide FTP transfer ability for all audio and video feeds.
  3. Shipping and mailing expenses for magazines, books and other products made available at no charge.
  4. Production expenses for books, printed materials, audio, and video materials.
  5. Equipment purchase and maintenance expenses for video and audio equipment to produce teaching materials used world-wide.

Your donations DO NOT provide:

  1. Salaries or payments to any person.
  2. Payments to anyone for any personal expenses.
  3. Loan Interest. We never borrow money "on faith". Rather, any contracts we must enter, we pay in full, and to date. It is our policy to "...owe no man anything."
  4. Credit Card Interest. We do not charge anything on credit cards that cannot be paid in full, interest free, every month. We have no debt.
  5. Insurance. Insofar as the law allows, we have avoided insurance as a luxury we cannot afford. We are totally dependent upon the Father for our well-being and protection and are fully content in that arrangement.
  6. Wasted Efforts. Although we want to be wanted, we do not want to waste the LORD YHVH's tithe.  We purge our email and direct mail lists periodically to insure that the list of subscribers represents those desirous to hear the Word of God.  We have a policy of "No reluctant subscribers!" Participation in the ministry in any way maintains a subscriber as current.
  7. Money-raising Efforts. "Ya gotta spend money to make money!" they say. Many people are not aware that their tithe (many times) is invested (gambled) in money making schemes to raise funds. In addition payments, gratuities, gifts and salaries are paid to unscrupulous persons whose design and expertise is solely making money. The tithe of the LORD YHVH will never dishonor your gift, and therefore, causing you to regret giving. 1 Samuel 2:17, "Wherefore the sin ... was very great before the LORD: for men abhorred the offering of the LORD."
