A man with "all the answers,"
Don Harris set upon his career as a Pastor.
While directing a Christian Children's home and
school, he was as typical as any preacher,
teacher or radio/TV evangelist you could meet
anywhere -- typical, that is, until the Lord
Jesus presented him some questions. For several
years, during his early morning devotional time,
Don was carried back to the ancient discourses
on the sandy shores of the Galilee and the
grassy hillside sermons to take a closer look at
the questions of Jesus.
He noticed that the Messiah frequently attempted
to teach by asking questions, but Don's
"answers" just didn't fit!
What a wondrous journey
writing this was for me. Each
devotional was written during and after my early morning hours of
meditation as the Lord opened them to me, one question at a time. It
was always a joy to discover a new question and explore it. When the
end of the Gospels was drawing near I felt a sadness, as if I was
losing a magnificent opportunity to visit with the Savior each
morning. As I edited the work, going back through it and reading it
as you will, I was pleased to find my experiences repeated and yet,
somehow, were richer than before.
